| “Comhairle nan Eilean Siar continues to be involved in
a joint child protection enquiry with Northern Constabulary. The
Comhairle’s role is directly connected with child protection
issues and as such we cannot comment on any details of this ongoing
enquiry. We would repeat that this case centres around the welfare
of some children in this community. We would ask that the rights
of the children concerned should continue to be respected and
the potential for disruption to their lives be minimised.”
