| Western Isles Adult Literacy and Numeracy - Excellent Project |

| The Western Isles Adult Literacy and Numeracy Action Plan is one of only four in Scotland to have been assessed as ‘excellent’ in a report by the Scottish Executive. The Comhairle’s Arts and Leisure Committee heard today that the Scottish Executive recently carried out a mid year evaluation of the Action Plan for the Western Isles, assessing the progress made by the Community Learning Strategy Partnership. Arts and Leisure Chairman Cllr. Malcolm Graham described the assessment as ‘very good news’ and congratulations were passed to the Comhairle staff involved.
