Takes Over Management Of Recycling Points
23 January 2005
Three Community
Groups in Uist and Barra have taken over responsibility
for management of their local Recycling Points. The
groups will take on the responsibility of making sure
that the sites around the Recycling Point are kept free
of litter or debris. In addition the groups will help
promote recycling in the areas that they cover. Finally
the groups will advise Comhairle nan Eilean Siar when
the Recycling Points are full so that they can be emptied.
In return the Community Groups will
receive a donation each time the Recycling Point is
emptied. This will help boost the funds available to
the group concerned.
The groups involved are:
Taigh Chearsabhagh Trust who will
manage the Recycling Point at Taigh Chearsabhagh, Lochmaddy
Southend Community Hall who will
manage the Recycling Point at Daliburgh Community Centre,
South Uist
Castlebay & Vatersay Community Council
who will manage the Recycling Point at Castlebay
