Yellow Woods Challenge
28 February 2005
Schools in the Western Isles will have the opportunity to take part in the Yellow Woods Challenge this year. The Challenge is run nationally by Yellow Pages with local, regional and national prizes to be won. The Western Isles is very fortunate to have gained a place in the competition as only 80 areas are selected each year.
The idea behind the Challenge is simple. When a new issue of Yellow Pages is printed, schools who have signed up to the Challenge collect old copies from homes and businesses in the area. The more that a school collect, the better. Prizes are available for the schools that collect the most copies per pupil.
With a new issue of Yellow Pages due in May this year the planning is already underway in schools throughout the Western Isles.
Good luck to the following schools who have signed up for the challenge:
Tong, Back, Bayble, Knock, Sandwickhill, Airidhantium, Sgoil Nan Loch, Sir E Scott, Leverhume Primary, Sheilebost, Cliasmol, Scalpay, Craigston, Daliburgh, Paible, Stoneybridge, Eriskay and Balivanich.
