PHASE 6 : PILOT KERBSIDE RECYCLING COLLECTION SCHEME WILL GO AHEAD

The collection timetable has now been completed for the centre of Stornoway, and due to the efficiency of the system, it has left capacity to extend the service.

Early September 2005 Waste Aware staff undertook door to door surveys of households in the selected streets for Phase 6 to gauge if there was sufficient interest for this service in their area.

The roll out of the service to these households would only be possible if sufficient sign ups were received to justify a collection in these areas. The response was excellent and subsequently householders in these streets will receive their bins the week beginning 3rd October 2005 with the first collection due mid October.

The streets in Phase 6 are:
