EXPANSION OF PILOT KERBSIDE RECYCLING COLLECTION SCHEME

The collection timetable has now been completed for Stornoway, and due to the efficiency of the system, it has left capacity to extend the service.

Letters and surveys were sent to householders in Branahuie, Melbost, Braighe Road and Tong Area week ending 13th January 2006 informing them of the possible expansion and to gauge if there was sufficient interest for this service in their area.

The roll out of the service to these households will only be possible if sufficient sign ups are received to justify a collection in these areas. The deadline for responses is Friday 27th January 2006.

Householders in the areas listed below who did not receive a survey by post are asked to contact the Waste Aware Helpline on 709900 if they are interested in receiving the new service.

The streets in Phase 7 are:
