Our lighthouse is called Eilean Glas and it was built in 1789. It used to have a lighthouse keeper but is now automatic.
In 1746, Bonnie Prince Charlie came to Scalpay and stayed in a house belonging to Donald Campbell. It was the Free Church Manse until recently. He also hid in a cave at the Outend of Scalpay. The cave is still there!
