Cover Your Tracks
Web browsers retain a history of web pages that you have recently visited and can store text and graphics in a temporary store called a cache file. If you do not want anyone else to know what sites you have visited, you can clear your history or empty your cache file.
If you use Internet Explorer: Pull down Tools menu, select Internet Options. On General page, under Temporary Internet Files, click on Delete Files. Under History click on Clear History.
AOL: Pull down Members menu, select Preferences. Click on WWW icon. Then select Advanced. Purge Cache.
You should use passwords which are difficult to guess to protect others from accessing your email account. If an abuser sends you threatening or harassing e-mail messages, you should print and save them as evidence of this abuse. Email messages may constitute an offence.
These procedures may not completely hide your tracks and the safest way to find information on the net, would be to use a computer at your local library, a friend's house, or at work.
