Standing Approved Lists of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors
April 2007 Review
In accordance with good practice, the Comhairle is carrying out a periodic review of the contractors on its Standing Approved Lists of Building and Civil Engineering contractors. The purpose of this review is to ensure the competence of Contractors in accordance with the provisions of the Construction (Design and Management Regulations) 2007.
Contractors who are currently on the Comhairle’s Standing Approved Lists of Contractors may expect to receive an abbreviated questionnaire and guidance notes during the first week of May 2007, and you are asked to respond by 30th June in order to have your retention on the current Standing Approved Lists considered.
The Comhairle welcomes applications for inclusion in Building and Civil Engineering Standing Approved Lists at any time and prospective contractors may either make application by writing to the Director of Technical Services, Council Offices, Sandwick Road, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, HS1 2BW, requesting the appropriate Application Forms or you may download them here.
All applicants are advised that with effect from 1 April 2007, the Comhairle has adopted a policy that Contactors on the Standing Lists of Approved Contractors should have CSCS accreditation for site based operatives and management on CnES sites. Details and timescale are noted in the guidance notes.
