Blasting on approach road
Full-scale work began on the development of the ferry terminal at Aird Mhor on Barra. Work at Aird Mhor started 6th August at which point the establishment of site offices and compounds was in progress.
Pilot road construction work had extended for about 400 metres with two blasts completed about halfway along. The excavation of rock had begun and the archaeological evaluation completed with the excavation of investigation trenches and survey of known archaeological sites.
