The final surfacing works for the completion of the roadways and marshalling area for the new ferry terminal has raised the number of those working on the Aird Mhor project .

By Saturday February 23, the situation was that the formation and dry bound roadbase had been completed to the approach road and marshalling area while the kerbing and road drainage had been completed in the marshalling area. Surfacing material from the Aggregate Industries Garbh Eilean Quarry in North Uist was shipped over using the Cal-Mac ferries, the Loch Tarbert and the Lord of the Isles, via Ceann a' Gharaidh to Aird Mhor and Lochboisdale to Castlebay routes respectively.

The basecourse was completed to the approach road and the marshalling area. Meanwhile repair works started on the existing township road leading to the new ferry access road.

At the terminal itself the Timber Alignment / Berthing Structure was by then complete and erection of steel walkway continued. The terminal was used by both the Loch Bhrusda and the Loch Tarbert ferries as work on the roads began.

The total number of personnel rose to 27 (including five from the Aggregate Industries surfacing squad) and of that total,14 are resident in the Western Isles.

Weather: Wet and windy, strong breeze to storm force most of the time.
