September 30: Work continued at the marshalling area with blasting and excavating in progress. This was more than 20 per cent complete. On the breakwater, core filling had begun and extended about 70m into sea at low level.

September 23: The marshalling area for the new ferry terminal has seen blasting and excavating in progress and it is more than 20 per cent complete On the breakwater, core filling has begun begun - it has extended approximately 50m into sea at low level.

September 16: Work continued on the marshalling area with blasting and excavating in progress. This is now approximately 20 per cent complete. Preparations have begun for construction of the breakwater with stockpiling of armour stone ­ preparation to start work within one week.

September 9: A third blast has been set off in marshalling area and workers were preparing for fourth. Work was also progressing to blasting of rock in the approach road to the terminal.

September 3: A second blast has been set off in the marshalling area and the contractors were preparing for a third.

August 26: The contractors were preparing for a second blast in marshalling area

August 21: The first blast was set off in the marshalling area.

August 12: Workers are preparing for the first blast in the marshalling area.

August 5: A temporary access road has been completed from road to marshalling area, an access track into the marshalling area is under construction, and the rock cut is continuing along line of access road - with drilling, blasting, and excavating.

July 24: Archaeological mitigation has been completed, topsoil stripping has commenced and additional plant has been mobilised from the mainland via barge on 23rd July.

10th July: Construction planned to start after archaeological evaluation

3 July: Planning consent has been received . Archaeological evaluation is in progress ­ planned to finish
