Much of the work on the causeway was 99 per cent complete by Saturday May 19.
Causeway
- Rock armouring to core continuing : 99% complete
- Stone parapet walls continuing both sides north of bridge : almost 3000m complete, 90%
- Total rock placed : over 690,000 tonnes : 99% of final quantity
Bridge
Diversion fill removal and rock armouring completed.

Drilling, blasting & excavating rock - 99% complete.
Road and Services
- Road formation and roadbase construction continuing
- Water main 60%, electricity cable 50%
- Reinstatement works continuing
Weather: Cool, overcast, sunny intervals.
Personnel: 54 total employed on site (including 2 CnES), 60% resident in the Western Isles.
Programme
- Road surfacing planned to start in June
- Completion of slipway planned for end of May
- Completion of Causeway and Ceann a Gharaidh planned for July
