Steady progress has continued with the Eriskay Causeway and associated works over the week to January 27
Rock armouring to core: in progress - 65 per cent complete.
Total rock placed: 575,000 tonnes - 82 per cent of final quantity.
Uist Quarry: Drilling, blasting & excavating rock 80 per cent complete.
Bridge:
- North pier pile cap concreted
- South pier pile cap shuttered
- South abutment pile cap reinforcement in place
- Rock armouring of south abutment complete to pile cap level
- Completion of bridge structure planned for mid March
Eriskay Approach Road: No work this week - rock excavation over 90 per cent complete.
Weather: stormy all week with rain and wintry showers calming at weekend.
Personnel: 51 employed on site (including 2 CnES) - 62 per cent resident in the Western Isles.
